Book signing, exhibitions and Mountains in Bloom shine at The Bascom this summer.
Here’s what’s happening at The Bascom:
— Ann Strub will be at The Bascom on Friday, June 17, from 4-5 p.m. signing her book, “Ann Strub Paints Her Muse,” a celebration of the artist, her mother and the rich history of New Orleans. Ann Strub’s Story Telling with Paint membership reception is from 5-7 p.m. Become a member of The Bascom and enjoy the artist’s figurative and narrative painting presentation. Bascom memberships start at $35.
— “Frank Stella: American Master at The Bascom” exhibition from July 8-Sept. 25. Preview at Mountains in Bloom Festival Thursday, July 7, 6 to 8 p.m.
— Mountains in Bloom Garden Festival Flower Show on Thursday, July 7 from 6-8 pm at The Bascom. Includes lectures by Suzanne Rheinstein, a flower show preview, garden tours in the Highlands Country Club area, the annual flower show, and benefactor events including a tour of the Southern Highlands Reserve in Lake Toxaway and the “Some Enchanted Evening” benefactor party. Tickets are $50 per person and can be purchased online at Mountainsin- Bloom.com or by calling (828)787-2896.
— Ongoing exhibitions include “The American Still Life Today” juried exhibition (through July 4), “Richard Ritter: Glass” (through June 26) and the Highlands High School Pottery Expo (through July 4).
