This 22nd Mountain Artisans Summertime Art & Crafts Show is July 2-3 in the Ramsey Center arena on the campus of Western Carolina University.
The arena provides a top-notch venue for some of the most respected and distinct artisans in the Appalachian Mountains. This year’s event has 115 exhibitors showcasing contemporary and heritage art and crafts.
An array of items will be displayed for sale, including: fine art, woodworking, pottery, weavings, paintings and gourd art. Heritage crafts such as shaker brooms, pine needle baskets and folk dolls will be available, along with heirloom fabric items.
Soaps and candles are also popular items, while master jewelers and bead designers delight attendees with a selection of accessories.
WCU’s Liston B. Ramsey Center has served as the show’s home since 2006. It provides 18,000 square feet of spacious aisles, along with surround lighting and air-conditioning comfort.
Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Admission is $3 for adults. Children under 12 are admitted free. Free parking is also available.
The show is produced by Macon County artist Doris Hunter of Mountain Artisans Show Promotions. For show info, call Hunter at (828) 524-3405 or visit www.mountainartisans.net.
