Arts & Entertainment Cashiers Library planning ‘Playfest’

The Friends of the Albert Carlton Cashiers Library are sponsoring a “Playfest” to be held on July 28.

“Playfest” is an evening of staged play readings featuring eight ten-minute pieces and will need actors who can play roles ages 30-80.

Both afternoon and evening auditions were held in the meeting room/theater of the library on Wednesday, June 22.

The plays will be performed with blocking, lighting, sound effects and suggestions of costuming, but with scripts in hand so that no memorization is necessary.

Afternoon auditions will start at 2 p.m, evening auditions at 6:30 p.m. There will be opportunities for both men and women to play multiple roles and the rehearsal schedule will be easy and flexible.

Those wishing more information, to audition, or to be part of the tech crew should call Ellen Greenwald, director at (828)743-1802.
