Members of the Scaly Mountain Women’s Club have a deserved reputation for knowing their way around a kitchen. It is never more in evidence than the second Saturday in October – this year October 8 — when the creative cooking of the cook is showcased at the Chocolate Fantasy booth.
As part of the Highland’s Women’s Club popular Arts and Crafts Show, the booth resonates with a happy buzz of chocoholics on a dream trip.
Chocolate creations to please all palates range from blissful bites of chewy brownies to glorious triple chocolate pound cakes, perfect for tucking back in the freezer to please weekend company. Hundreds of homemade chocolate baked goods will be for sale during the festival, which is free and open to the public.
Proceeds from the booth support the groups’ outreach which includes a scholarship program for Scaly students seeking to continue their post-high school education and many other local charities.
Stop by their adjacent booth, the Scholarship Store, to purchase cookbooks, aprons and towels which make great gifts and further proceeds to Scaly Scholars.
