Arts & Entertainment Award-winning glass blowing at ColorFest

New Green Energy Park resident artist, glass blower Tadashi Torii won Best in Show recently at MeccaFest Fine Arts Festival in Carrollton Cultural Arts Center Downtown Carrollton, Ga. One of the most popular fine arts festivals in the Southeast voted best annual event by readers of Georgia Magazine.

Torii and his partner, artist Corina Pia, are both participating at the upcoming ColorFest in Sylva on Oct. 22.

Jackson County Friends of the Library bookstore has art by both artists on display and is hosting the live demonstrations the day of the festival. A Jackson County radio interview featuring the two artists will go on air the day of ColorFest Oct. 22, at 11 a.m. Listen on-line at www.storiesofmountainfolk.com.

On Sunday, Oct. 23, between 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. live glass blowing demonstrations will be given at the Green Energy Park in Dillsboro. It is a free event and open to the public.

Enquire about upcoming glass blowing classes, events for couples and families including birthday parties, custom events and “hot-dates” for a sizzling experience for two. No experience required.
