Arts & Entertainment Giving Trees and Nog Off reception set Saturday, Nov. 12 at The Bascom

Bring your own unique, interpretive ideas or just your taste buds to the Nog Off, a friendly contest and culinary celebration of a favorite holiday drink. Submit your favorite eggnog recipe or come sample the nogs and cast your vote to determine the 2011 victor at the Giving Trees and nog Off reception Nov. 12 at The Bascom.The Bascom is hosting an event to bring attention to all the non-profits on the plateau and to give visitors an opportunity to donate to multiple organizations. All non-profits are invited to participate in the first annual Giving Trees exhibition.

The Bascom will provide the space and participating nonprofits are asked to provide a beautifully decorated tree, informational materials on your organization and a donation box which will be on display at The Bascom from Nov. 12-Jan. 3. All Giving Trees donations will benefit the participating nonprofit organizations. On Saturday, Nov. 12, from 5-7 p.m., everyone is invited to the Giving Trees and Nog Off opening reception. Be one of the first to see this showcase of festive holiday trees created by local non-profit organizations.

The Bascom is now open year-round - Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, 12 noon to 5 p.m. Enjoy workshops, exhibitions, special events and quality programs throughout the year at The Bascom.
