Elementary school-age children and their families are invited to Holiday ARTSaturday, the Arts Council’s free monthly crafts and music workshop, on Saturday, Nov. 19, 10 a.m. to noon, in the historic Rickman General Store in Franklin.
The Arts Council provides all materials for make-andtake projects including evergreen swags, holiday collage cards, decorated Christmas cookies, and paper garlands, along with gift wrapping instruction, caroling to live music by keyboardist Lionel Caynon, and refreshments.
There’s no pre-registration; children should wear play clothes and come for any part of the session. Adults must stay with their children.
The Rickman Store is at 259 Cowee Creek Road, seven miles north of Franklin off the Bryson City Road, Highway 28. Attendees may park in the Cowee School lot and follow the short path to the store.
The event is sponsored by the Joe Suminski Family to honor their grandmothers, Anne Gallup and Colleen Suminski. The monthly ARTSaturday series is produced by the Arts Council of Macon County, and is supported by the North Carolina Arts Council, a division of the Department of Cultural Resources.
