The Franklin Chamber of Commerce is proud to partner with The Overlook Theatre Company to present “How Sweet It Is” A Musical Dessert Theater on April 21 and April 26 at 7 p.m. at the Smoky Mountain Center for the Performing Arts. Tickets are $20 and available at the Box Office, Dalton’s Bookstore or online at http://www.greatmountainmusic.com/.
Enjoy a five-course dessert menu while a cast of crazy characters bring to life 100 years of music celebrating the last century before the millennium.
From the crooning smoothness of the 1930s to the bee-bop, doo-wop of the 1950s to the peace loving folk sounds of the 1970s, “How Sweet It Is” invites the audience to sing and dance along through the history of music while enjoying delightful treats – all served on stage!
The menu includes fruit soup, strawberry/pretzel salad, bread pudding with vanilla sauce, cheesecake with fresh fruit and chocolate mousse. Seating is limited.
Presented by The Overlook Theatre Company in cooperation with the Franklin Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by Snow Hill Inn and Cat Creek Lodge.
Doors will open at 6:45 p.m. to general admission seating. The show will begin at 7 p.m. with the first course served. Bring your sweet tooth and dancing shoes for an evening of fun and delicious desserts prepared by Chef Connie Grubermann of Oak Hill Country Inn, Faith Drake at The Boiler Room and the Chamber Staff.
