Daytime Classic Country and Gospel Music is a brand new program at the Macon County Library.
This is a program designed for those who may not want to venture out at night but love to listen to Classic Country and Gospel.
This music is provided by local musicians that call themselves “The Lady and the Old Timers, ” one beautiful lady and seven old timers, the oldest being 85 years young, providing vocals and music by stringed instruments and one harmonica.
Songs are highlighted by instrumentals by Robert Bradley (mandolin), Roy Ramsey (dobro) and/or Jim Brown (guitar), all local Macon County musicians, along with Wild Bill Jackson, Jim Hite, Carl Sears, Fred Kirkland, and Lady Delia Sears.
The country and gospel music program will be held every first and third Thursday of each month beginning at 11 a.m. and lasting about an hour and a half.
