Jeff Foxworthy has teamed up with Compassion International, a Christianbased organization that advocates for children in more than 26 countries, to raise money for the children in Africa. Foxworthy is one of the most respected and successful comedians in the country and he’ll take the stage at the Smoky Mountain Center for the Performing Arts on Saturday, April 14 at 7:30 p.m.
Foxworthy is the largest selling comedyrecording artist in history. He has been nominated for multiple Grammy Awards, is a best-selling author of 11 books, a TV and radio host, and an actor. His comedy act explores the humor of everyday family interactions and human nature.
Having traveled to Kenya with Compassion International, Foxworthy has seen first-hand the needs of African children. He and his family sponsor several children through the Compassion ministry, and they have joined Compassion in its efforts to build an orphanage in Nairobi.
All proceeds from Foxworthy’s performance will go to Compassion’s WASH Initiative, which aims to reduce waterborne diseases that kill more young children than AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria combined. Tickets for this event, which start at $39 each, are available online at GreatMountainMusic.com and at the theatre’s box office, located at 1028 Georgia Road, Franklin.
