Weather cooperates for first Annual Cruisin’ In The Mountains car show

Beautiful weather and 106 cars, trucks and bikes helped to make the first Annual Cruisin’ In The Mountains car, truck and bike show a huge event. Southwestern Community College’s Automotive Department, along with the Franklin Chamber of Commerce, sponsored this event in Franklin at the SCC Driver Training Course on Industrial Park Road. Vendors, sponsors and car owners enjoyed the sunshine, beautiful mountain views and a wide variety of antique, classic and late model cars, trucks and bikes.

With entry into the show, folks were asked to vote for their favorite vehicle.

John and Terry Moore won the First Place People’s Choice Award while Darrin Holland was awarded second place. The People’s Choice Awards were sponsored by NAPA Auto Parts. Children attending the event were also given a voice by voting for the Kid’s Choice Award. That award was given to Chad Pilkerton and was sponsored by Catamount Pump & Go.

A Cornhole Tournament was held during the show. Mike Kimbrough and Chris Saunders were crowned champions. Organizers offered a big thank you to sponsors, vendors, car owners and spectators who attended.
