Arts & Entertainment ‘Go Further’ event to benefit Full Spectrum Farms

On Thursday, Nov. 15, from 5 to 8 p.m., Andy Shaw Ford in partnership with Ford Motor Company and local charity, Full Spectrum Farms is hosting “Go Further With Ford Night.” During this event individuals can help raise money for Full Spectrum Farms – just by showing up — have a chance to win a new 2013 Fusion, audition for a “Guest Judge Experience” and VIP package from “American Idol,” and test drive the all-new 2013 Ford Fusion.

“Ford Motor Company and Andy Shaw Ford will donate $20 per person who registers that evening, up to a thousand dollars” said Larry Hinton, General Manager at Andy Shaw Ford. “Each person will also be entered into a drawing for a new Fusion and a trip to Hollywood,” he added. “People will also have the opportunity to test their judging skills with ‘American Idol’ and possibly win a VIP prize package,” said Hinton.

Full Spectrum Farms is a non-profit organization that serves adults with autism. It is located on a 34-acre farm in Cullowhee where people with autism spectrum disorder can live, work, and become a functioning part of the larger community. When it is completed, Full Spectrum Farms will provide a special model for autism services as a sensory-sensitive, holistic environment with work centering on organic farming and natural craft products. The Farm will help people with autism develop lifelong learning and living skills through cottage industries such as woodworking, pottery, and weaving as well as growing and selling organic produce and bedding plants.

“Such working and learning endeavors will provide an opportunity for persons with autism to help support their communities and themselves,” said Norman West, board president. “This will be a fun evening with food, beverages, drawings, prizes and a chance to help support a local charity,” he added.
