On Sunday, Feb. 17, the Brasstown Concert Association presents the Fire Pink Trio, a dynamic and poetic ensemble combining three sensual instruments: flute, harp and viola. Performing music from romantic to contemporary, Latin and jazz, the trio has received critical praise for its energy, elegance, style and virtuosity.
Harpist Jacquelyn Bartlett began musical studies at an early age with her mother, distinguished harpist and composer Mary Bartlett. Jacquelyn graduated from Interlochen Arts Academy and Oberlin Conservatory of Music. Sheila Browne, violist, trained at the Julliard School, MusikHochschule Freiburg and Rice University. Flutist Debra Reuter-Pivetta, graduated from the North Carolina School of the Arts where she studied with Philip Dunigan.
“Each member of the trio boasts a multitude of accolades, including top prizes in national and international competitions, performances as soloists, chamber musicians and orchestra principals in the U.S. and Europe, critically acclaimed recordings, and distinguished teaching credentials,” said BCA Program Chair Rosemarie Kelischek.
Named for the beautiful North Carolina wildflower, the Fire Pink Trio plays “impassioned chamber music,” making it one of the most exciting young ensembles on the music scene today.
