Arts & Entertainment The Isaacs bring a bluegrass flavor to gospel

The Isaacs will be performing in Franklin March 23 at 7:30 p.m. For ticket information, visit www.greatmountainmusic.com.The Smoky Mountain Center for the Performing Arts will welcome The Isaacs, an internationally-acclaimed country and bluegrass gospel family group, on Saturday, March 23. Showtime is 7:30 p.m. and tickets start at $13 each.

Mom, Lily Isaacs, and children Ben, Sonya, and Rebecca have won multiple awards throughout a career that spans across more than 30 years. Some of the awards they have to their credit are Gospel Voice Song of the Year for “From the Depths of My Heart,” Dove Award for Bluegrass Album of the Year for “Bridges,” International Country Gospel Music Association award for top Bluegrass Album of the Year, and Gospelline Fan Pick Award for Band of the Year and Mixed Group of the Year. They have also been nominated for a Grammy Award for Gospel Bluegrass Song of the Year.

The Isaacs have made guest appearances alongside many artists including Dolly Parton, Brad Paisley, Vince Gill, Ralph Stanley, Mark Lowry, and many others. The group has performed at venues such as Carnegie Hall and the Grand Old Opry, and have participated in many of the Gaither Homecoming videos and concert series.

The unique style The Isaacs have become famous for is influenced by all genres of music – bluegrass, country, southern gospel, etc. – and their family harmony appeals to a variety of audiences.
