The Macon Grass Band is comprised of four seasoned musicians from the Franklin area. Although they are an acoustic, bluegrass based group, their repertoire includes country, folk, pop and country rock tunes.
Formed in early 2012, the group includes Mitch Patterson, band leader, guitarist, and lead vocalist, he also plays fiddle and bass. Patterson is retired from the food service business. Having a strong background in country and country rock, he has formed and fronted four other bands in the past, Bustin' Loose, The Alverez Kelly Band, Kickin' Grass and the Mountain Man Bluegrass Band.
Peter Mosco plays resonator guitar. He is a local realtor and also builds fine resonator guitars and banjos. He also repairs most stringed instruments. His shop is here in Franklin and you can find him on the web at www.maconstringedinstrumentco.com.
Curtis White is a retired engineer and has been playing banjo for 48 years and also plays the fiddle. He is a very accomplished musician which is quite evident when you hear him play.
The band is rounded out with bass-man Chuck Dorling, a local business owner who can play most any stringed instrument.
All band members help out on the vocals. The Macon Grass Band can be seen most every Friday at the Mountain Man BBQ in Dillard and at Chris and Charlie’s Pizza in Franklin the last Saturday of every month.
