Arts & Entertainment Registration for Summer Voice Music Camp now open

Ann Lough accompanies camp choir on hammered dulcimer.Voices in the Laurel is offering Summer Voice Music Camp. Registration is now open for the day camp which will take place July 29 – Aug. 2, from 8:45 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Waynesville. Summer Voice is open to singers in all area counties who will be entering first through ninth grades in the fall. They will be divided into age groups to participate in a variety of musical experiences.

Campers will learn to sing with proper vocal technique and in two- and three-part harmony. In addition, groups will rotate through classes in piano, drums, guitar and violin. Some choral numbers will include choreography. The fun-filled week will end with a demonstration concert at noon. The cost is $85 per chorister and includes all music, snacks, professional instructors, a tee shirt and five days of fun musicmaking.

Voices in the Laurel Summer will feature Martha Weathers Brown, founding artistic director of Voices in the Laurel and Anna Watson, piano instructor and accompanist for Voices in the Laurel.
