The Village Square Art and Craft Show is set for Aug. 24 and 25 in downtown Highlands. Good food, good shopping and good hiking can be found in this small mountain town known for spectacular rivers, waterfalls and scenery.
But for high quality art and crafts plus fun family entertainment, the Village Square Art and Craft Show is where you’ll find impressive regional talent with fine art, folk art and crafts, as well as demonstrations, face painting, food and mountain music.
The show is being held in the Kelsey-Hutchinson Park and neighboring Highlands Village Square at 5th and Pine Streets, just a block from Main Street shopping and dining. It runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days, rain or shine.
As always, Patti Cakes will be painting faces. Live music from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. both days, with the Nikwasi Dulcimer players on Saturday and the Ross Brothers on Sunday.
The Village Square shows are always free as well as child and pet friendly and are sponsored by the Macon County Art Association (www.uptowngalleryoffranklin.com). Call (828)787-2021 for more info.
