The Streets of Franklin, a downtown Franklin merchant organization, along with the Town of Franklin, is sponsoring an Uptown Art StreetFest on Friday evening, Sept. 27, from 5 to 8 p.m. Several merchants will host artists from the Uptown Gallery during the evening.
Owned by the Macon County Art Association, the Uptown Gallery provides a venue for displaying and selling fine art for its members.
Kay Edson, co-director of the Uptown Gallery along with Sheila Moffitt, said of the upcoming event, “Our membership looks forward to an evening of displaying, demonstrating, and talking art to those attending this month’s Franklin Street- Fest.
"We are always excited by the opportunity to expand outside of our gallery to show people that art belongs everywhere,” said the nonprofit association's president, Sue Weathers. “The people of Franklin have always been very kind to us and we look for opportunities to return those gifts."
