Arts & Entertainment Outdoor rock concert in Franklin Friday

"Motown Downtown," a free concert of Motown hits from the 1960s and '70s, will be held Friday, Oct. 4, at 7 p.m., on the Franklin Town Square gazebo, Main Street at Iotla, weather permitting. The award-winning C-Square performs vintage hits made popular by a variety of Motown groups like The Drifters, Four Tops, and Temptations, as well as works by great solo artists like Fats Domino, Ben E. King, and Stevie Wonder. Band members are keyboardist Lionel Caynon and vocalists Bobbie and Mike Contino, with guest guitarist Dave Stewart.

Bring a lawn chair, family, and friends. This family-friendly event is produced by the Arts Council of Macon County with funding support from the Grassroots Arts Program of the North Carolina Arts Council, a division of the Department of Cultural Resources.
