Tom Dewees as CoyA benefit performance for the Rickman Store of the Gary Carden's one act play "Coy" will be presented at the Mountain Heritage Center in the Cowee School on Saturday, Nov. 9, at 6 p.m.

Actor Tom Dewees will take the stage to represent Coy. Dewees is a native of Jackson County and an active member of the Haywood Arts Regional Theatre, who for more than 25 years, has made theatre a major part of his life. "Coy" is the story of a young Appalachian man who was raised by his grandfather and now finds himself heartbroken by the fact that his grandfather is dying and Coy seems unable to help him.

This performance is in support of the Rickman Store, one of the historic jewels in Macon County located in the heart of the West’s Mill Historic district. The store was built in 1895 and it was purchased for its preservation by the Land Trust of the Little Tennessee (LTLT) in 2007.

Tickets are only $10 and are for sale at the Rickman Store and at the Franklin Chamber of Commerce until the day of the performance, Nov. 9. The Cowee School is located on 51 Cowee School Drive in Franklin, seven miles north of Franklin by Hwy NC 28.
