Arts & Entertainment Spring Fling musical event draws crowd

Approximately 200 people turned out Saturday night at the Spring Fling musical event.

Held at Franklin’s Slagle Memorial Building, the show featured bands from across the region.

Punk band Eureka California (from Athens, Ga.), progressive group Crow vs. Hawk (Franklin/Asheville), heavy New-Wave band Total War, jazzy-dance rock band The Unawarewulves played throughout the night.

Indie rocker Daniel Powell (Athens), folkcountry artist Polecat Swagger and electro-groove musician Tall Fields (Highlands) all performed between each set, adding to the myriad of musical styles heard throughout the night.

Another show is in the works for May.
