Three Eagles Outfitters opened its doors 17 years ago on April 1, 1994. This Saturday, Three Eagles will be hosting an anniversary celebration, “Hike Your Dream Fest 2011.”
Three Eagles is celebrating the love of the outdoors, its loyal customers and the Appalachian thru-hikers. Since 1994, more than 8,000 AT thru hikers have passed through its doors.
On Saturday, April 2, from noon till 2 p.m., recording artist Jenna Lindbo will entertain with her guitar and 5-string banjo. Originally from the Pacific Northwest, Lindbo now makes her home in Asheville, N.C. She’s on a mission to connect, entertain, and inspire, so says her website. Lindbo’s first album, “Strings and Spokes” has been called “an audible smile” by critic Ben Salmon. Her songs tell stories, both whimsical and riveting, that captivate listeners of all ages and transport them into the worlds she sings about, where life feels a little brighter.
Next, get ready to rock your hiking boots off with the jamming tunes of John Luzzi and Franklin’s very own bald-headed local, John Becker. The Impostors will perform from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.
Along with live music will be free food, outdoor industry reps and special sales all weekend long. Everyone is invited to stop by, hang out under the tent, enjoy a cool drink and share outdoor dreams at “Hike Your Dream Fest 2011,” at 78 Siler Road on 441S.
