Elizabeth Ann PearsonElizabeth Ann Pearson

Elizabeth Ann Pearson, 89, of Franklin, passed away Monday, July 9, 2012.

Born in Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Fred D. Cabe and Jessie Sutton Cabe. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Pearson who died May 19, 2012; two brothers, Jack Cabe and Charles Cabe and sister, Mildred Cabe Perry. She was a member of First Baptist Church, receptionist at the county courthouse for 15 years, and helpmate to her husband at their businesses. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She is survived by two sons, Douglas Lamar Pearson and his wife Alice Bradley of Denton, N.C.; Charles Curtis Pearson and wife Charlotte of Franklin; five grandchildren, Alyson Pearson Bosworth and husband Bobby; Kurt Pearson and wife Christina; Brad Pearson and wife Trinity; Jessica Pearson Tallent and husband Jonathan, and Matthew Pearson; seven greatgrandchildren, Collin Bosworth, Slade, Jenson, Ivey, Mia and Ava Pearson and Jackson Tallent; brother, Larry Cabe and wife Gaynell; sister-in-law, Joann Cabe and ten nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 25, at First Baptist Church. Dr. Robert Brown and Rev. Jim Dusek officiated. Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Ronnie Ledford, Jonathan Tallent, Curtis Reynolds, Marty Ransom, Jim DiGuiseppi and Robert Bosworth.

Marie Cole MasonMarie Cole Mason

Marie Cole Mason, 91, of Franklin, passed away Saturday, July 21, 2012.

Born in Swain County, she was the daughter of the late Henry H. Cole and Maggie Monteith Cole. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Lee Mason who died in 1992; son, Dennis Mason; two brothers, Clint and Ross Cole and a sister, Grace Cole. She was the oldest living member of Tellico Baptist Church, previously serving as church clerk and as Sunday School Teacher for young children. She enjoyed reading, quilting and canning and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by a daughter, Doris Lovedahl and husband Marshall of Franklin; daughter-in-law, Phyllis Mason of Franklin; three grandchildren, Shellee Marion and husband Scott of Franklin, Teresa Wolfe and husband Rhett of Sylva and Odell Lovedahl of Cullowhee and two great-grandchildren, Dennis and Max Marion.

Funeral service was held Monday, July 23, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. David Lee Williams and Rev. Morris Tippett officiated. Burial was in the Tellico Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Tommy Cole, Frank Ramsey, Wayne Cole, Ronnie Lakey, Gene Mason and Dane Lakey.

David Ricky WebbDavid Ricky Webb

David Ricky Webb, 55, of Highlands, N.C., passed away Saturday, July 21, 2012, at a Highlands- Cashiers Hospital. He was born in Macon County, the son of Doris Gibson Webb of Highlands and the late Richard Webb. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a lineman for the Town of Highlands. He was a very loving son, husband, father, grandfather and brother. His nieces and nephews loved him very much. In additon to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 12 years, June Wallace Webb; three daughters, Teri Wallace of Fountain Inn, S.C., Amanda Webb of Alto, Ga. and Debbra Gilbreath of Dade City, Fla.; one son, Shane Webb of Spartanburg, S.C.; four grandchildren; one sister, June Webb of Highlands; three brothers, Freddie Webb of Highlands, Johnny Webb of Franklin, N.C. and Randy Webb of Hollywood, Md. He was preceded in death by two brothers, James Webb and Bill Webb.

A memorial service was held Sunday, July 22 at Horse Cove Cemetery with Rev. Randy Reed officiating.

Anita L. Perry

Anita L. Perry, 91, of Franklin, NC, passed away Sunday, July 22, 2012, at her home.

She is survived by her husband, Bruce Perry; two daughters, Marie Tsacrios and Denise West and husband Bubba; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

No services are planned.

Milton Earl Goodale

Milton Earl Goodale, 74, of Franklin, passed away Thursday, July 19, 2012.

Born in Edwards, N.Y., he was the son of the late Maurice H. Goodale and Mildred Solon Goodale. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Marvin and Morley Goodale; a grandson, Josh and three great-grandchildren. He loved going for rides, mowing lawns and enjoyed helping others and living life to the fullest. He was of the Methodist faith.

He is survived by three children, Melody Revette of Duncanville, Texas, Justin Goodale of Franklin and Annette Goodale of Lakeland, Fla.; adopted daughter, Serena Shampine of Franklin; brother, Merton Goodale of Rochester, N.Y.; sister, Margie Solon of Sunnydale, Calif.; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held Sunday, July 22, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Darren Cochran officiated.

Vicki Ann Rutter

Vicki Ann Rutter, 56, of Highlands, N.C., passed away Monday, July 23, 2012. Born in Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Mickey Ward and Hester Cowart and lived in Commerce, Ga. for most of her life.

She is survived by one son, Kip Rutter and wife Sarah of Highlands; three sisters, Pam Morgan of Madison, Ga. and Judy and Jill Willis both of Commerce; four brothers, Ronnie Cowart of Hull, Ga., Mike and Robbie Willis and Butch Cowart all of Commerce; and four grandchildren, Triston Rutter, Nathan Keener, Cooper Hall and Lillian Rutter.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made the the charity of one’s choice.

Burl Wayne RayBurl Wayne Ray

Burl Wayne Ray, 89, of Franklin, N.C., passed away Sunday, July 22, 2012. Born in Swain County, he was the son of the late John and Georgia Wishon Ray. He was retired from Zickgraf Hardwood Company; was the oldest living member of Mt. Sinai Assembly of God and was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during WWII. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who liked diggin ginseng, fishing and keeping bees.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Lucille Pendergrass Ray; six daughters, Wanda Shepherd, Deborah Holland and husband Steve, Elaine Holland and husband Phillip, Ila Giles, Ann Holland, and Tammy Collier and husband Lloyd all of Franklin; two sisters, Gladys Welch and Gassie Gilbert of Lincolnton, N.C.; three brothers, Willard Ray of Franklin, Clint Ray of Oregon and Hess Ray of Missouri and a special cousin, Rita McCoy; 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Bill Ray.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 25, at Mt. Sinai Assembly of God with Rev. John Raby, Rev. Bryon Lamb and Rev. Jared Benedict officiating. Burial was in Roper Cemetery. Franklin VFW Post #7339 and American Legion Post #108 performed military graveside rites. Pallbearers were Terry Holland, Micky Raby, Freddie Raby, Bob Ray, Johnny Pendergrass, David Pendergrass, James Ray and Donnie Marion.

Charles Frank Paradise

Charles Frank Paradise, 80, of Mountain City, Ga., passed away at his residence after an extended illness.

He was born in Detroit, Mich., the son of the late Anthony and Elizabeth Jezwald Paradise. After high school he was in the Air Force for four years. He was a member of the VFW. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family especially Bob Mayfield in the mornings for coffee and son-in-law Wayne in the evenings after work. He owned and operated Paradise Cleaning for many years. The company did work for Sangamo Weston, A.I.D. Corporation, Georgia Power and many others.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janie Moore Paradise and brother, James Anthony Paradise.

He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Kelly Paradise Johnson and Wayne Johnson of Mountain City Ga., Mary Beth Paradise Justus and Richard Justus of Hollywood Ga.

Funeral services were held Tuesday July 24, in the chapel of Beck Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Cannon officiating. Burial followed in Rabun Memorial Park in Tiger.
