Marilyn Ann DidasMarilyn Ann Didas

Marilyn Ann Didas, 71, of Franklin, N.C., passed away Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012.

Born in St. Augustine, Fla., she was the daughter of the late John Burb Higginbotham and Ruth Vera Pearl Allen. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Gethro Lee Bryant and husband Leon Arthur Didas and a son, Gary Lee Bryant. She loved lottery tickets, westerns and reading and was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by five children, Lisa Smith and husband Barry of Franklin, Joseph Lee Bryant of Lake City, Fla., Iva Rivenbark and husband Dana of Lake City, Fla., Becky Jackson of Dade City, Fla. and Tillman Bryant and wife Judy of Lake City, Fla.; a sister, Emma Jean Depoe of Lake City, Fla.; 19 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Joan J. Leopard

Joan Jolly Hughes Leopard, 75, of Highlands, N.C., formerly of Moncks Corner, S.C., died Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012, in North Carolina.

She was born April 6, 1937, in Moncks Corner, a daughter of Solomon J. Jolly, Sr., and Banie A. Johnson Jolly.

Surviving are two daughters, Sharon Thompson of Summerville, S.C., and Alice H. Pace of North Redington Beach, Fla.; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 17, in the Glenville Wesleyan Church in Glenville, N.C.

Bucky Joseph JonesBucky Joseph Jones

Bucky Joseph Jones, 18, of Franklin, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012.

Born in Macon County, he was the son of Nancy Jones. Bucky was a member of Boy Scout Troop 235. He loved playing video games, watching wrestling and attended Holly Springs Baptist Church.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 17, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Eddie Trull and Rev. Benny Hurst officiated. Burial was in Mount Zion Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Jake Waters, Matt Burgess, Jerry Jones, Bud Elliott, John Jones, Colton Harden, Adrian Mace and Brandon Kirkland.

Kelly Kirkland and Chris Chase served as Honorary Pallbearers.

Cy Levi FoutsCy Levi Fouts

Cy Levi Fouts, 30, of Franklin, N.C., passed away Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012. He was born in Macon County, the son of Rickey L. Fouts and Celia Diane Carpenter both of Franklin. He had worked for an electric company and was of the Baptist faith. He liked to hunt, fish and dig ginseng.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his maternal grandparents, James and Doris Carpenter of Franklin, and paternal grandmother, Dorothy Lequire of Franklin; uncles, Tracy Carpenter and Kevin (Bo) Carpenter; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Sunday, Nov. 18, in the Chapel of Bryant-Grant Funeral Home, with Rev. Don Moffitt officiating. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jeremy Burr, Chris Pendergrass, Dax Padgett, Chris Stiles and Jeremiah Keener.
