Doris Margaret Alberti
Doris Margaret Alberti, 84, of Franklin, N.C., passed away on Friday, June 14, 2013.
She was born in Chattanooga, Tenn., and was the daughter of the late John Louis Lively and Lona Katherine Eustice. She loved bingo and crossword puzzles. She was Baptist by faith.
She is survived by four children, Diane Devlin and husband Thomas of Orlando, Fla., Carolyn Holland and husband Ronnie of Franklin, Jerry Catlett of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Allen Alberti of Miami, Fla.; three step-children Louis, Dewayne, and Debbie Alberti; two sisters, Lila Beard of Reseda, Calif., and Ruth Burch of Michigan; grandchildren, Cathy and Tommy Devlin of Orlando, Troy and Bryan Burt of Franklin, and Christina, Kari, and Natasha Catlett of Colorado; 12 surviving great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by ex-husband John Mitchell Catlett; her husband, Leon Alberti, who died in 2010; brothers, Harold Lively and Richard Louis Lively; daughter-in-law, Tracy Catlett; and greatgrandson, Ryan Thomas Gomer.
A memorial service was held on Tuesday, July 16, at the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home, with Revs. Vic Green and Rev. Joanne Young officiating.

Peter McKenzie Roberts
Peter McKenzie Roberts, 78, of Franklin, N.C., passed away Monday, July 15, 2013. Born in Kings County, N.Y., he was the son of the late Lewis and Francis Smart Roberts. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving from 1952-1955, and was employed in the maintenance department of an assisted living complex. He was a friend of Bill W.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Sue Ellerbee Roberts; one son, Kent Roberts of Massachusetts; two step-sons, Bret Altom and wife Angela of Houma, La., and John Altom of Florida; one granddaughter, Brittany Altom and a host of friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Lewis Roberts Jr.
Memorial services will be announced at a later date.

Faye Selby, 87, of Candler, N.C., formerly of Nantahala, died Monday, July 15, 2013, at her residence. She was a native of Macon County, but had lived in Candler since 2005. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.
She was the daughter of the late Julius and Elva Dills Morgan and the wife of the late Claude Selby, who died Oct. 4, 1979. She was also preceded in death by an infant son, Claude Earl Selby; two sisters, Carmel Cope and Christine Mason; and two brothers, Doyle and Don Morgan.
Surviving are three daughters, Ann Bartow and husband Robert of Candler, Rhonda Douthit and husband Oscar of Horseshoe, and Kelly Hollifield and husband Johnathan of Asheville; a son, Stanley Selby and wife Char of Leicester; three sisters, Reva May of Hendersonville, Juanita Holden of Andrews and Angela Bateman of Nantahala; two brothers, Ray Morgan of Topton and Andrew Morgan of Bryson City; and 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 18, in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews, with the Rev. S.J. Waters officiating. Interment will be in Bethel Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 -1:45 Thursday afternoon at the Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews prior to the services.

Helen Henderson Simmons
Helen Henderson Simmons, 82, of Franklin, N.C., passed away Saturday, July 13, 2013. Born in Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Fritz John and Charlotte Ledbetter Henderson. She was preceded in death by her husband, T. L. Simmons who died in 1976.
She was an inspector for Burlington Industries for 25 years. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and loved flowers and gardening. She was a member of Union United Methodist Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Jean Dreml of Franklin and Margaret Anderson of Dequincy, La.; one son, Fritz Simmons of Franklin; one sister, Jo Henderson of Wilkesboro, N.C.; two brothers, Vernon Henderson and Louie Henderson, both of Franklin; nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Dana Shope; a sister, Kathryn Henderson and a brother, F. J. Henderson.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, July 20, at 2 p.m. at Union United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Janet Greene officiating.
