(FYP) had their annual meeting at the newly renovated Cat Creek Lodge in the Holly Springs area of Franklin. Cat Creek Lodge graciously donated their facility to FYP for their annual meeting. The purpose of the meeting was to reflect upon FYP’s accomplishments in 2010/2011, as well as the introduction of the new board members for 2012/2013.

The meeting highlighted FYP’s accomplishments in 2010/2011. The crowning achievement was the honor of receiving the Franklin Chamber of Commerce Organization of the Year. “We feel honored to receive such an award and feel that the numerous programs that we are involved with throughout the year played a huge role in this”, said Josh Owens. In 2010/2011 FYP were involved with programs like: Carenet, Carene’s Backpack Program, Manna Food Bank, Cold for a Cause, highway cleanup, Macon Early College career fair, and more.

In the coming year, the Franklin Young Professionals plan to continue with some of the same programs from the previous year, as well as consider a few new ones. They also have plans in the works for an event/fundraiser in either late 2012 or early 2013. The Franklin Young Professionals Inc. (FYP) is a group of young professionals sharing the goal of giving back to Franklin through community outreach, volunteering, and participation in local events.
