The Macon County News was “throned” on Tuesday morning. Betsey Gooder and staff were greeted by a purple potty on their front door step.
The "Purple Potty" fundraiser is being sponsored by Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Youth to benefit World Vision’s 30 Hour Famine and CareNet in Franklin. So far, the fundraiser has raised around $900.
The youth at Pleasant Hill started the fundraiser to help reduce hunger in the U.S. and around the world.
The way the fundraiser works is if the potty winds up in your yard or business, you have to pay $10 to have it removed; pay $15 to have it removed and placed in someone else's yard or pay $30 to have it removed, placed in someone else's yard and the no return insurance prevents someone from being able to place the potty in your yard a second time.
Jenny Campbell, youth leader said, “We will keep the fundraiser going as long as the potty keeps on moving.”
