Features Business recognized for recycling efforts

Edward Jones office on Highlands Road is an example of how small local offices can recycle effectively.

Chris Brouwer, Christine Bury and Cathy Bryan each have recycle boxes under their desks to separate sensitive papers for shredding and regular paper that they drop off at the recycle centers.

The office recycles approximately 100 pounds of paper each month. In addition, they bring all biodegradable waste home for composting and take cans and bottles to the dropoff centers.

Chris Brouwer stated, “I am happy to recycle if we can save the county taxpayers money by selling these items for reuse while saving landfill space.”

If your business, club, church or school group is recycling, Macon Pride wants to recognize your good efforts.

Call Debby Boots at (828)349-5201 or Shirley Ches at (828)524-9991 to register your group or to request a demonstration on how to set up an easy two-box recycling station on your premises.
