The second kick-off for Lighten Up for Life for our community sponsored by Angel Medical Center and Macon County Public Health will be on Saturday, April 28 at 9 a.m. in the Franklin High School Gymnasium. The LU4L program is a free weight loss challenge that is entirely web based.
The program is based on 4-person teams who compete with others to lose the largest percentage of weight against the other teams. At the conclusion of the challenge, the top 3 teams who have lost the highest percentage of weight receive prizes. The team who was the top winner during the first challenge all received Kindle Fires, and a 3-month free membership to Franklin Fitness for their family.
“Having Lighten Up for Life become a program here in our community, gives our neighbors and friends the chance to take a few minutes during the week to ‘weigh-in’ and get the support they need to help in shedding unwanted pounds online.” stated Marty Wadewitz, Interim CEO. “With no cost and a total online program, this is a healthy choice that makes getting healthy a lot easier for busy folks.”
The teams are encouraged with the information found on the website for the Lighten Up 4 Life teams which includes healthy recipes, exercise videos, and other weight loss advice. Lighten Up 4 Life is here and you can be a part of this proven program to get healthier and there is no cost. LU4L is an on-line program for 4-man teams with each person weighing in and posting their own stats. No one else will see what your weight is or what you have lost. The results are posted as team percentages, not weight loss.
The kick-off and sign-up will take place on Saturday, April 28, at 9 a.m., at the Franklin High School Fine Gym. Free door prizes and giveaways and lots of laughter will be part of the one-hour kick-off.
