Painless procedure measures breathing
On Saturday, Aug. 4, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Angel Medical Center, along with all of Mission Health System, will be participating in the World Spirometry Day for the community. A Spirometry test shows how well you breathe and can help in the diagnosis of different lung diseases.
The test, itself, is painless and usually will take less than 10 minutes. It does require taking in a very deep breath and some hard blowing. The device you breathe into is called a spirometer, which measures the amount of air in your lungs and how fast you breathe out.
The test is free of charge and no appointment is necessary. Come by Angel Medical Center’s lobby between the hours of 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. and get this test which checks your air flow. For more information, contact Eric Wolak at (828)369-4260.
