Features Health & Wellness Luminary display to benefit cancer center

Angel Medical Center is putting together a special display during Franklin’s Winter Wonderland Event on Dec. 6, and Dec. 13. A cancer ribbon-shaped luminary display will be on the front yard of the hospital on those two evenings. The cancer ribbon luminarios will be available for community members to purchase a bag for either evening or even for both evenings for $10 a night. The bags will be inscribed with the name of the loved one being honored or remembered.

The proceeds from the Luminario Display will benefit the new Angel Medical Cancer Center in the Nantahala Outpatient Center building across the street from the hospital.

Angel Medical Center will occupy approximately two-thirds of the three-story building. The largest level – the second floor – will house Angel Medical Center’s outpatient medical oncology and related infusion services. Angel Medical Center’s rehabilitation services, including occupational therapy, physical therapy and speech therapy services, along with related support services, will be located on the lower level.

Western Carolina Digestive Consultants will occupy the top floor of the building, which will include a GI procedure suite.

To purchase a bag, contact Don Capaforte at (828)349-6887 or pick up a form at the front reception desk.
