Proceeds benefit AMC cardiac rehabilitation program.

Angel Medical Center's (AMC) third annual “Macon Your Heart Beat” 5K walk/run event is scheduled for Saturday, April 6, and will have an extra event this year. An 8K (5 miles) walk/run option will be added to the one mile fun run and 5K (3.1 miles) race that have been held in the past. Registration for the all events will kick off at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday.

The Angel Medical Center (AMC) diabetes self-management education program has been awarded continued Recognition from the American Diabetes Association. The program was originally recognized in March of 2002. This program offers high-quality education services to the patients it serves.

The ADA Education Recognition effort began in the fall of 1986, as a voluntary process which assures that approved education programs have met the national Standards for Diabetes Self-Management Education Programs. Programs that achieve Recognition status have a staff of knowledgeable health professionals who can provide state-of-the-art information about diabetes management for participants.
