Last Saturday, Venture Local Franklin held its 10th Cash Mob. With growing momentum, 45 mobsters met at the clock tower early Saturday morning before descending on Franklin's Farmer's Market.

Mobsters has three goals in mind, commit to spending $20 to provide a quick economic boost for the local vendors; meet three new people, a tremendous networking opportunity; and lastly, have fun!

The Franklin Chamber of Commerce recently held a ribbon cutting for Smoky Mountain Bicycles celebrating the Grand Opening of their new shop located at 31 East Main Street. Owners David and Pam Forshee opened Smoky Mountain Bicycle in 2002 and said they are excited to move next door to Outdoor 76 in downtown Franklin. Their new store allows patrons to shop for all their outdoor needs in one location.

The Franklin Chamber of Commerce recently held a ribbon cutting for The Trail Tree Coffee and Expresso Bar located in Three Eagles Outfitters at 78 Siler Road.

The Trail Tree was built in an effort to bring a relaxing place of refuge and taste into Three Eagles Outfitters. Visitors will be greeted by warm woodwork, beautiful art, long range views and incredible brews.

That’s why the Small Business Center of Southwestern Community College will offer a free seminar entitled, “How to Write a Business Plan” from 5:30-8:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 22, at the college’s Macon Campus.

Your business plan must first convince you that your business will work “on paper.” It can then be used to convince others that it will succeed. With your business plan, you can apply for a loan and the plan can subsequently serve as a road map for your business success.
