Local children and families take part in The Nutcracker Print
Wednesday, 06 January 2010

Emma Weller and Sarah Futral (front row), of Macon County, appeared as Baby Mice with The Charleston Ballet Theater (CBT) in The Nutcracker on December 6 at Smoky Mountain Center for the Performing Arts in Franklin. Pictured with them are Jolie Ramey and Kamilla Bedea of Rabun County. The girls rehearsed their roles with Dance on the Mountain Ensemble and School in Tiger, GA, rehearsal associate for CBT.

At left, four lucky local children won family 4-pack ticket packages to The Charleston Ballet’s production of The Nutcracker held at The Smoky Mountain Center for the Performing Arts on Sunday, December 6. All children who celebrated their birthdays at The Fun Factory during September, October, and November of this year had their names entered in a drawing and were eligible to win these tickets. The drawing was held on November 23 and winning children were Samantha Dalton, Dalton Jones, Julia May Schmitt, and Kadin Taylor.

“We [were] extremely pleased to present The Nutcracker tickets to these families. We know they [were] a special addition to their Christmas holiday activities,” said The Fun Factory Birthday Party Coordinator, Lynn Bass.
