Realtor John Becker raises $1,775 for ‘the cause’

When John Becker agrees to do something, there is no stopping him. In fact, by agreeing to wear a specially decorated Bra for the Cause he was able to raise $1,775 for Angel Medical Center in less than four days. Now this was despite the fact that John thought Ron Winecoff was joking with him when asked to participate in the Bras for the Cause Walkathon to help retire the debt on the Hologic digital mammography system. It was just days before the Walkathon that Becker realized that he, along with 84 influential men and women, including Angel Medical Center CEO Tim Hubbs, were raising money to save lives by detecting breast cancer at the earliest stages when survival rates approach 100 percent.

John “Baldhead” Becker is the lead listing and selling agent with Exit Smokey Mountain Realty. “People who entrust their largest financial decision (buying or selling a home) into my hands, humbles me to say the least. I intend to give them the very best and professional care.” He cares deeply about his community and has been actively involved in Macon County since moving to Franklin from Fort Lauderdale, Fla. in 1993. His professional sales career spans 45 years and includes in-depth experience in retail sales, marketing and manufacturing of musical instruments and accessories. “During that time my dedication to helping people get what they need and want became my passion and life’s chief goal.” Always ready for a challenge, Becker contacted family, friends, and colleagues through his own blog that included a photo of Becker in his booby trapped bra, to enlist their support for the local community hospital to provide state-of-the-art equipment for the early detection of breast cancer.
