The 78th Annual Corbin Family Reunion will be held Sunday, Sept. 5, at 12:30 p.m. in the fellowship hall of Holly Springs Baptist Church. Descendants and friends of John and Nancy McClure Corbin are welcome to attend. Bring covered dishes. Eating utensils and beverages will be provided. Franklin High School Graduation Class of 1950 will be celebrating its 60th Class Reunion on Saturday, Sept. 11, in Tartan Hall of Franklin Presbyterian Church, 26 Church St. from 10:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. An invitation is extended to members of the 1948, ’49, ’51 and ’52 classes to come by after lunch around 2 p.m. to visit and reminisce about FHS experiences. The public is invited. Drivers Education Test will be given at Franklin High School on Wednesday, Sept. 15, in the cafeteria. High school students who will be 15 years of age by March 31, 2011, may sign up to take the test. Come to the main office to sign up and pick up study materials on Sept. 8. The Driver’s Ed test is a 200-question test; plan on two hours to complete it. An eye exam will be given during the test. The Macon County GOP will have its mobile headquarters at Lowe’s parking lot Saturday, Sept. 4, from 10 a.m. to noon, and at Ingles/Kmart parking lot from noon to 2 p.m. The public is invited to come by, get info and register to vote.. Angel Medical Center offers a four-week childbirth class on Tuesdays, 6 to 8 p.m., starting Sept. 7 and concluding Sept. 28, in the second floor ICU Conference Room. The class provides information on the stages of labor and the birth of your newborn. Topics include coping with labor through breathing and relaxation exercises, medical interventions, Cesarean delivery, coaching tips, the birth process and postpartum care. Caregiver’s Support Group will be meeting Tuesday, Sept. 14, at 3 p.m. This group meeting offers support, education, and community resources for caregivers.
