Brian Andreu, 52, of Franklin, was involved in a single vehicle accident on Prentiss Bridge Road last Thursday.
Andreu was driving a 1994 Chevrolet Camaro when he crossed the center line and ran off the left side of the road and under a parked trailer.
The trailer, which is owned by Wayne Moss with Norton Creek Farm, received substantial damage.
MAMA (Mountain Area Medical Airlift) helicopter was called and Andreu was transported to Mission Memorial Hospital in Asheville, where he was released shortly thereafter. Trooper Leah McCall investigated the incident.
According to McCall, Andreu was not wearing a seat belt.
McCall noted that Andreu might have fallen asleep at the wheel, because if he had been awake, and sitting upright, there is no way he could have survived.
McCall reported that when she arrived on scene, Andreu was alert and was talking.
Although he didn’t appear to have any serious injury, he did have some visible scratches on his face.
Charges in the case are pending. Photos by Vickie Carpenter
