Wesley McCormick is from Raleigh, North Carolina. Wesley McCormick began his career at the Lyndon B. Johnson Job Corps Civilian Conservation Center (LBJCCC) on Oct. 18, 2010. He studied in the vocational trade of Facilities Maintenance. During this time, he received certifications and training in Occupational Safety Health and Administration.
Wesley expressed that Job Corps helped him to become a better person. He shared that training in a team oriented environment, assisted him to gain an assortment of needed skills to achieve his goal of becoming a Shop Foreman.
Recently, he was selected for a summer internship with the US Forest Service Southern Research Station located in Asheville, NC. During this internship, he will be performing a variety of duties in the maintenance field such as landscaping and electrical work. Wesley highly recommends Job Corps to anyone who wants to make a difference in their life.
At the LBJCCC, we support our program’s mission of teaching eligible young people such as Wesley, the skills needed to become successful through education and on site training.
