News Community Couple to celebrate 65th anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Lowell WolfeLowell and Betty Wolfe of Lynchburg, Va. formerly of Franklin, N.C., will be celebrating their 65th Wedding Anniversary on Sept. by taking a lunch cruise on the Virginia Dare Paddle Boat around Smith Mountain Lake in Moneta, Va.

Their son, Greg and wife, Sue will be hosting the cruise for the family.

The former Betty Sarver married Lowell Wolfe in 1946 at the Church of the Brethren in Battle Creek, Mich. where they met at the age of 7.

In 1976 they moved to Florida and lived in Osprey, Sarasota, and Bradenton until 2002, when they moved to Franklin.

The couple has two children, a daughter Mrs. Russell File (Debby), in Lynchburg, and a son, Rev. Greg Wolfe, wife Sue in Kalkaska, Mich.

They have five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

They are members of Heritage Baptist Church in Lynchburg, and sing in a Gospel trio with their daughter, The Family Believers.

Lowell is a 56-year member of the Barbershop Harmony Society and is a member of the Chorus of the Keys Chapter in Sarasota, Fla. and sings bass.
