Each year, in August, the Federated Franklin Woman’s Club holds its Annual Flea Market to help children in Macon County.
Club members empty their closets, choose a special item from their home for the new “golden flea table” being added this year and encourage friends and neighbors to donate items.
Truck loads of kitchen items, tools, electronics, linens, books, jewelry, Christmas items, baked goods, lamps, furniture, children’s clothes and toys, and a special ladies boutique are brought in by supportive husbands and volunteer helpers.
This popular and anticipated sale is scheduled this year for Saturday, Aug. 20, at Tartan Hall in the First Presbyterian Church on Church Street. The doors open promptly at 8:30 a.m. for shoppers that come early for bargains.
According to co-chairpersons Linda Ellison and Barbara Trueblood, “Our sale keeps getting bigger each year and we believe this will be the best ever. In this economy, people are looking for bargains and, believe us, we will have them.”
For further information on the sale or to donate items, contact Linda Ellison at (828)369-5216.
