On Dec. 23, the Fun Factory served up the final phase of its canned food drive to benefit The Macon County Care Network (CareNet). Thanks to their efforts and those in the community, they gathered 8,357 pounds of food.
During a special holiday promotion, running from Nov. 26 to Dec. 23, Fun Factory patrons were encouraged to bring in five canned goods and receive a $10 Factory card. As part of this promotion, the Fun Factory also gave away a wagon, which was won by four-monthold Dawson Taylor of Franklin, N.C.
CareNet Executive Director Vanessa Bailey said, “We are so thankful to the Fun Factory and its patrons for making this event such a huge success. Because of them, we are able to fulfill our ministry of giving Macon County citizens in crisis a hand up, not just a hand out.” Donations may be dropped off at CareNet on Bidwell Street from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, as well.
Fun Factory General Manager Gregory Hunt said, “We are so pleased to have had the opportunity to contribute to CareNet this holiday season. I am touched by the generosity of our patrons and wish them all the happiest of New Years.”
