County Manager Jack Horton has announced that Lori Hall has been selected as the new finance director for Macon County. Hall replaces Evelyn Southard, long time county finance director who retired at the end of October.
Hall assumed her duties with Macon County Monday, Oct. 31. Hall was selected from among some two dozen applicants for the job according to Horton. “The selection process has been extremely thorough and time consuming,” stated Horton, “but necessary due to the tremendous responsibility this vital position carries for Macon County.”
Before accepting the position with Macon County, Hall had served as finance director for the City of Kings Mountain beginning in 1996. Prior to that appointment, she worked as a clerk in accounting and collections for the city.
A graduate of Kings Mountain High School, Hall later earned a BS in Accounting and then a Master of Accountancy from Gardner- Webb University.
Hall is a Certified Local Government Finance Officer. In addition to being a member of the North Carolina Local Government Finance Officers Association, Hall also taught accounting courses at Gaston College and Gardner-Webb.
Hall has three sons as well as a three-year- old grandson and a one-year-old granddaughter.
Hall says she is excited about being in Macon County and looks forward to working with everyone here.
