News Community Children get their wish lists ready for Santa

They came from as far away as Indiana and as close as within the Town of Highlands. They came from Atlanta, Anderson, S.C., Nashville, Tenn., and from all around Western North Carolina. Children brought their smiles and laughter, and especially their wish lists, to meet Santa Claus and begin that one month wait ‘til Christmas Eve.

Following the lighting of the tree in downtown Highlands on Saturday night, Santa and Mrs. Claus made their way to the Highlands Visitor Center to a specially constructed covered shed. Children lined up for the opportunity to sit on Santa’s lap and make their wishes known.
