The Jackson County Public Library in Sylva has announced the featured title for its next Book Ends Bookclub discussion, which will take place at the library on Monday, Jan. 9, at 7 p.m.
Library staff member Angela Zoran will facilitate the discussion of “Endurance: Shackleton’s Incredible Voyage,” by Alfred Lansing.
In 1914, explorer Ernest Shackleton and a crew of 27 men embarked on an epic adventure to be the first to cross the Antarctic on foot. This is the tale of an amazing journey that defied all odds. It vividly portrays how inspiring leadership and the indomitable human spirit helped these men survive for 20 months in the world's most formidable environment. Every single man made it home safely.
Copies of the book are available at the Jackson County Public Library and throughout the Fontana Regional Library system.
