On Wednesday, January 27, Franklin High School Senior Megan Ward (left) was named the Rotary Student of the Month for January.
Ward was chosen for the honor for her strong academic achievements, her leadership at school, and her community service.
Ward, who is also a New Century Scholar, has logged more than 800 hours of community service since she was named a New Century Scholar in the ninth grade.
New Century Scholar Director Pam Collins called Ward, "the perfect visual" of what a New Century Scholar is supposed to be.
Ward will graduate in June and plans to attend Southwestern Community College. She is the daughter of Jim and Jennifer Ward of Franklin.
