News Community Sweet Corn Festival a summer tradition

Photos by Betsey GooderThe 15th Annual Sweet Corn Festival was held this past Saturday at St. Cyprian’s Episcopal Church.

Corn lovers from all over the area came to partake of summer’s bounty and fellowship with their neighbors.

Not only was there lots of good food, but festivalgoers were entertained with music by local groups, games and face painting for the children, arts and crafts and “the best silent auction ever,” said organizers.

Proceeds from the festival went to benefit All Saints Episcopal Community and CareNet.The men’s group Macon Harmony entertained the crowd along with women’s group, The Carolines.Ken Smith demonstrated leathercraft at the Sweet Corn Festival.The Carolines
