News Community Descendants of Ed and Sam Guffey gather for reunion

The Guffey/Guffie reunion was held Sunday, July 22, for descendants of brothers Ed and Sam Guffey of Macon County who married sisters Lillie and Dovie Buchanan of Jackson County.

More than 90 members from both families attended the event, including the only surviving son of Ed and Lillie Guffey, Zeb Sr. age 101.

Zeb's surviving sister Lillian Guffey Russo, age 93, is in an assisted living facility in New York.

The reunion came about after a chance meeting of relatives on the internet Facebook group "If your ancestors were from Macon County.”
