News Community Dryman, Morgan recipients of Judy Moore scholarship

Pictured above seated are Judy Moore Scholarship recipients Courtney Dryman (L) and Stephanie Morgan; (standing, L-R) are Judy Bell, committee secretary; Anne Hyder - committee treasurer, and Kimi Stevens, committee chairperson.Board members of the Judy Moore Scholarship Endowment Committee have announced that two scholarships for $1,000 each have been awarded to Courtney Dryman and Stephanie Morgan. Awards are given for tuition, books, room and board and any other directly related educational expenses to candidates who are enrolled in Nursing degree programs.

Dryman, the daughter of Sam and Cindy Dryman, will graduate from Western Carolina University in 2013. Her career goal is to work in Women’s Health Labor and Delivery.

Morgan is the wife of Anthony Morgan and daughter of Ron and Joyce Jones of Bryson City. She is pursuing her nursing degree via Southwestern Community College and is currently employed at Angel Medical Center.

The endowment is affiliated with the North Carolina Community Foundation and was established in 1997 in memory of Judy Moore RN who through her devotion to the nursing profession was an inspiration to fellow nurses, patients and leaders throughout the community.
