News Community Donations being sought for Bowers Family

Cyrus Bowers, two-year-old son of Joanna and Corey Bowers of Franklin, has been diagnosed with stage 4 neuroblastoma. Neuroblastoma is a form of cancer, found primarily in children that attacks the developing nerve cells.

The cancer has spread throughout his body and his lower abdomen, lungs and bone in the one eye.

Cyrus is currently in Mission Hospital undergoing chemotherapy treatment, then will go to UNC-Chapel Hill for radiation and a bone marrow transplant.

If successful, he will then undergo surgery. Cyrus has a one-year-old sister.

A savings account has been set up for the family at Macon Bank. Donations may be made at any Macon Bank branch office.

A benefit fund raiser is in the planning stages. Anyone interested in volunteering, making a monetary donation or gift certificates, services, auction items, etc. may contact Pat Cable at (828)369-5853
