News Community MPP Easter Egg Hunt

Photos by Vickie CarpenterStudents in the spring break daycare at Macon Program for Progress were treated to an Easter Egg Hunt on a breezy Wednesday morning at the Macon County rec park.

Parents pitched in for the event and the children decorated their “baskets” with crayons and Easter stickers.

After all the eggs were found, students played on the playground before heading back to the center.


Area Easter Egg Hunts

— An Easter Egg Hunt with 2,000 eggs will be held Saturday, March 30, starting at 11 a.m. at Cullasaja Assembly of God Church at 6201 Highlands Road in Franklin. The Easter Egg Hunt is for pre-school and elementary ages with golden eggs, candy and prizes. The Egg Hunt is being hosted by Pine Grove Baptist Church with Cullasaja Assembly of God Church.

— The Big Easter Egg Hunt will be held at Patton Springs Camp, Camp Road off N. Blaine Branch Friday, March 29, beginning at 2 p.m. for ages through the sixth grade. Bring a basket. Hundreds of Easter eggs and lots of prizes. Refreshments will be served.

— Free Easter Egg Hunt at the Rec park will begin at 10 a.m. Friday, March 29. More than 15,000 eggs will be in play. In case of inclement weather, the egg hunt will be held at The Factory. Sponsored by The Factory and the Franklin Area Chamber of Commerce.

— The annual Easter “Eggs-travaganza” Easter Egg Hunt will be held Saturday, March 30, from 3 to 5 p.m. Thousands of eggs in different sections for each age group. Eggs are filled with candy and prizes. Bounce-House, Face Painting, the Easter Story and other fun activities. Finish the day with a free hot dog meal. — Longview Baptist Church Easter Celebration Egg Hunt and Scavenger Hunt will be held on Saturday, March 30, 11 a.m. Egg hunt will be for ages 2-10 (over 2,000 eggs hidden with a prize in every egg). The scavenger hunt will be for ages 11 and up. Lunch will be provided for the whole family. For more information, call (828)524-6836. The church is located at 93 Jones Ridge Rd., in Franklin near Ruby Cinemas.

— The Annual Easter Egg Hunt at the John C. Campbell Folk School will be held Saturday, March 30, at 1 p.m. Families should arrive early to hunt for filled Easter eggs at Open House. This event is free and open to kids of all ages. Three areas for egg hunting will be divided by age: 0-4, 5-7, and 8 and older. Park in the gravel lot across from the Keith House to allow plenty of space for egg hunting and for the safety of the participants. For more information, visit folkschool.org or call (828)837-2775.
